Executive Summary

The NEOMED Education & Wellness (NEW) Center opened in September 2014, following the Village at NEOMED housing community which opened for the fall semester of 2013. NEOMED is a community-based public medical university that o ers a doctor of medicine (M.D.) and a doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, in addition to graduate level coursework and research opportunities leading to master’s and doctoral degrees in several medical focused areas.

Project Details

The 177,000-square foot center brings an unprecedented integration of wellness, healthcare, educational experiences, and community interaction to the University, Rootstown and the surrounding areas. The focal point of the facility is a large, atrium that functions as a gathering area where students, patients and the community can interact, as well as provide a venue for educational, after-hours, and weekend community events.

The NEW Center includes a diverse range of multi-purpose spaces such as conference and banquet services, STEM+M High School, a 350-seat auditorium, and retail dining as well the following tenants: NEOMED, Summa Health System, Ferrell- Whited Physical Therapy, Sequoia Wellness and Ritzman Pharmacy.

Signet arranged all project structuring, financing, design, development and construction of the new facility and provides property management services to NEOMED.
